Leigh Herd, a member in Shepherd and Wedderburn’s structure disputes group, has been validated as vice chair of the Scottish division of this Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) at a brace of fresh appointments to the company’s attorneys.
Ms Herd’s appointment as vice chair comes as secretary Alyson Shaw, a solicitor in Shepherd and Wedderburn’s house and infrastructure disputes staff, assumes the use of honorary secretary.
With over 17,000 members around 149 nations, CIArb is a worldwide organisation representing professionals involved in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The institute offers training and education for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators. Additionally, it functions as a hub for professionals, policymakers, academics and people in company, supporting the marketing, facilitation and development of all types of ADR.

These appointments follow of Chiara Pieri, a lawyer at the company’s construction disputes group, as president of this Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association.
