Fennemore Craig, a law firm, is looking to expand its talent pool by implementing a new remote-work program called Fennemore Forward. This program is aimed at hiring experienced lawyers with a portable book of business worth at least $450,000 who are interested in working from home.
Unlike other BigLaw firms that require lawyers to be in the office most days of the week, Fennemore is embracing flexibility by allowing remote work. The CEO of Fennemore, James Goodnow, mentioned that the firm is open to hiring top-quality lawyers with unique expertise that align with their practice areas. This new program currently has 18 attorneys and 35 allied legal professionals, with plans to include new hires and existing Fennemore lawyers who previously worked in physical offices.
Lawyers in the Fennemore Forward program will have access to various resources such as technology, administrative support, conference rooms, and firm events. Additionally, there will be associate availability to assist partners with their work, along with a pool of talented individuals to collaborate with.
Fennemore has 19 offices located in different states, including California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Arizona, and Washington. By implementing this remote-work program, Fennemore aims to tap into a larger talent pool outside of the cities where its offices are situated.
It’s worth noting that another BigLaw firm, Husch Blackwell, also offers a work-from-home program called the Link. This trend of remote work in the legal industry is becoming more popular as firms seek to attract top talent from diverse locations.
Overall, Fennemore’s initiative to expand its talent pool through remote work not only benefits the firm by accessing a broader range of expertise but also provides experienced lawyers with the opportunity to work in a flexible and supportive environment. This innovative approach could set a new standard for the legal industry in terms of work flexibility and talent recruitment.
