SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A former director of a Washington-based seed business was charged this week with supposedly laundering and wiring 15 million by many approaches to defraud the organization’s former owner and its own clients.
Jacklin Seed Company is a manufacturer and marketer of grass seed and turfgrass located in Liberty Lake, Washington, the Statesman Journal reported. As stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the business contracted with farmers to the creation of proprietary grass seed forms and fulfilled requests from a supply center in Albany, Oregon.
Claypool, 52, oversaw the organization’s merchandise sales to national and global distributors.
U.S. lawyer officials stated Claypool’s alleged strategies include packaging seed types with false and deceptive labels, embezzling over $12 million while posing as a foreign revenue associate and conspiring with a travel service in Spokane to match prices of his global travel.
It was not immediately known if Claypool comes with an lawyer to comment on the circumstance.
